VFF KIDS HAPPENINGS

Nursery:
We have some new friends in the nursery! After the babies turn 6 months they are able to enter into the nursery during Sunday service and enjoy the fun. We have a lot of young friends in the nursery lately. They are enjoying bubbles, songs and lots of books.

We are entering into cold and flu season, especially during back to school season, and I want to give a friendly reminder that we ask you to please keep your kids out of the nursery if they have an active fever or have had one in the last 24 hours. We have the mothers room available at the back of the sanctuary if you need a quiet place to enjoy service. Thank you for helping to keep our kids healthy.

PreK:
Theme: Dreams Come True
Bible Verse: 1 Timothy 4:12 NIRV ... Set an example ... in what you say and in how you live. ...

In this unit, we will study the life of Joseph with your little ones--from his imprisonment in Egypt to his God-given ability to interpret dreams!

Please remember, to be in PreK we ask that your child is three years old and potty trained. If they are not potty trained, please change their diaper before class. We want to make sure they are comfortable and happy during class and we do not have the resources up in PreK to change diapers.

VFF Kids:
Theme: Initiative, seeing what needs to be done and doing it

Bible Verse: "Work at everything you do with all your heart. As if you were working for the Lord." Colossians 3:23A, NIRV
GOD VIEW: THE CONNECTION BETWEEN INITIATIVE AND GOD’S CHARACTER, AS SHOWN THROUGH GOD’S BIG STORY
When God saw our sin, He took initiative. He sent Jesus to make things right. When we see a need and choose to do something about it, people can see the reality of God’s love for them. All month long, we’ll be taking a closer look at one of the best examples of someone who showed initiative even when he didn’t have to.

Nursery:
Last month we noticed that the babies have been having a complete blast every time they come in to the nursery. We believe this is due to the amazing nursery team and the recent updates that have been made to the nursery. We’ve welcomed a few new members to the nursery volunteer team and we are always looking for more help. We are really grateful for the outstanding team we have right now and we are looking forward to the months to come as the babies grow and enjoy their new space. Lastly, we are looking forward to Mother’s Day, the kiddos have a special craft to work on for their mamas!

PreK:
The theme this month: Abraham's Big Test

Bible Verse: Psalm 31:14 NIV "... I trust in you, LORD; I say, “You are my God.""

Faith is choosing to trust, believe, and live God’s way, even when we can’t see Him or understand what’s going on around us. Our faith seed grows when we remember the great things God has done before, and wait patiently to see His promises to us come true.

VFF Kids

The theme this month: Honesty: Choosing to be truthful in whatever you say and do.

Bible Verse: “ANYONE WHO LIVES WITHOUT BLAME WALKS SAFELY. BUT ANYONE WHO TAKES A CROOKED PATH WILL GET CAUGHT.” PROVERBS 10:9, NIRV We are taking a deep dive into understanding the connection between honest and God's character, as shown through God's bit story. God wants what is best for us. He has called us His children, and given us great things. Because we know that God is good, WE CAN BE HONEST. Lying and cheating are a response to fear. They are what people do if they think no one else will take care of them. But when you trust in God, when you know His love, you have a different response. You can be truthful.

Nursery:

We have had a blast adding in more hands on elements to the nursery service. Recently we installed a felt board in nursery to give the kids more play options that also assist with their development. Kayla has also focused on adding in more arts and crafts to the nursery and the kids seems to love them! Please let us know if you have any ideas or suggestions.

PreK:

The theme this month: God's Wonderful Gift
Bible Verse:
Romans 15:19 NIRV ... He has given me the power of the Holy Spirit.

In the lesson "God's Wonderful Gift," the preschoolers will be learning about the Holy Spirit, the gift that Jesus gave to the disciples (and us) after His resurrection.

VFF Kids (K-5th):

The Theme this Month: Patience: Waiting until later for what you want now
Memory Verse: Psalm 27:14 ... Wait for the Lord. Be strong and don't lose hope. Wait for the Lord!

Bottom Line: THE CONNECTION BETWEEN PATIENCE AND GOD’S CHARACTER, AS SHOWN THROUGH GOD’S BIG STORY
God is patient. Why? Well, because God is in control and He knows how the story ends. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we know how the story ends, too. Because of Jesus, WE CAN WAIT. We can trust that God is in control. We can have hope that things will work out in the end. And we can be patient because we know all that God has done.

NURSERY:

Kayla and the nursery team have been working hard to update the nursery and make it a safe place for the babies to learn and grow during their time in VFF Nursery. Not only are the kids stoked about the new updates, we have also received positive feedback from many members of the Church! We really want this to be a safe and fun environment for your kids. Our heart is for every parent to feel safe and secure to leave their child in the nursery and enjoy service.

We would like to start incorporating fun learning activities for your kids into the nursery routine. We would love to hear from you! If anyone has any fun ideas about new projects or activities, please let Kayla know.

We have also seen an increase in attendance in the nursery since gaining some new members here at VFF! As always, we are for a few more people to volunteer and join the nursery team since the amount of kiddos continues to grow! Lastly, a friendly reminder on how important it is that we properly sign out our kids. If anyone has any questions about that please ask Kayla or Sarah and they love to show you. We are looking forward to what these next few months have in store for VFF Nursery!

PreK:
Theme: A Happy Sunday
Bible Verse: Romans 10:9 NLT ... believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, ...

In the lesson "A Happy Sunday," the preschoolers  will learn the Easter story of Jesus' resurrection. We really want to focus on preparing them for Easter Sunday and continuing to help them to understand the gift that Jesus is to our lives.

KIDS:

Bottom Line: Peace, proving you care more about each other than winning an argument.
Bible Verse: So let us do all we can to line in peace. And les us work hard to build up one another. Romans 14:19, NIRVThis month the kids will learn about when Adam and Eve decided that their way was better than God’s way and broke God’s rule, they changed the relationship between God and His creation. Where once everything and everyone could be in the presence of God, now we were at odds with God. God could have done anything He wanted, including wiping us out and starting over. But instead God decided to make peace with us. Ultimately God did this through His Son, Jesus.
When Jesus died and then rose from the dead, He paid the price for everything that was wrong and unfair in this world. Because of Jesus, we can have peace. We don’t have to get even. Instead, we can reflect the character of Christ by caring for others and making peace.

VFF Nursery:

We are so excited to announce that Kayla Davis will be our new LEAD Nursery worker. This means she will be managing, directing and planning the ins and outs of the nursery each week. Join me in praying for her through this process. May she be obedient to Gods plan for the nursery and help facilitate a clean, safe and loving place for all the babies.

VFF PreK:

The theme this month: Through the Roof

Bible Verse:  "Share with God’s people who are in need. …" Romans 12:13

This month we will walk PreK through the story of the sick man who was lowered through the ceiling by his friends so that Jesus could heal him. Through the Roof teaches your kids about the love and healing power of Jesus, and the faith we can have in Him.

VFF Kids (K-5th):

Bottom Line: Rewind, kindness deserves a replay

Bible Verse: “Do to others as you want them to do to you,"  Luke 6:31 (NIrV).

God was kind to us even when we didn’t deserve it. Even when we were still sinners, Jesus died for us. Because of God’s great love for us, we can be kind to everyone.Jesus personified kindness in the way He lived and interacted with the people He met. But, as we read the Gospels, we find that Jesus didn’t just model kindness. He commanded it. By treating others the way we want to be treated, we live out the way Jesus taught us to live

Nursery:
(6 months-3 years)

Christen and Marianne have fearlessly lead the nursery for the last 6 months. They have brought in some fun new crafts and extra love for the babies in nursery. However, in January they will both be stepping down from this role to spend more time with their families and prepare for changes to come in this upcoming year. Find them at Church and give them an extra Thank You for leading this ministry so well!

PreK:
The theme this month: The First Christmas Gift
Bottom Line: Jesus teaches us about God!
We are teaching the kids about how God gave us His Son, Jesus, as the very first Christmas present. Jesus is Immanuel, God with us. He shines a light so we can see what God is like!
Bible Verse:  Matthew 1:23 NLT “… they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’”

Kids:
(k-5th)

The theme this month: The Big Give: Think outside the box
Bottom Line: Generosity: Making someone's day by giving something away
Every good and perfect gift comes from God. In fact, generosity is at the very core of God’s character—He even gave us His own son, Jesus! Jesus showed unwavering generosity as He traded His life for ours. And, because God gave us Jesus and Jesus gave His life, we can be generous towards others. Not only that, but when we are generous towards others, we prove that we love God by loving the people He loves. We pray that this Christmas, as kids celebrate God’s amazing generosity, they’ll see how they can be generous with their family, friends, and neighbors.
Bible Verse: 1 Timothy 6:8 NIV "Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.
