Can I tell you something? When you say yes to a life with Jesus you don’t suddenly become immune to life's storms. John 16:33 “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world."
In fact it might feel like all hell is coming against you.. cause you know what? It is! The devil does not want you living a life that is powerful, free or has purpose. Before you knew the Lord, maybe life felt simpler but where were you going? What were you doing? What was the grand purpose? Life with Jesus is FUN and exciting yes, but it’s also a life that is meant to be POWERFUL and FULL of adventure. There is purpose for you. He has a life for you that is meant to be abundant. Full of joy, goodness, grace for yourself and others. A life that is on mission to see His kingdom come here on earth. And there is a very real enemy of your soul that wants nothing more than you to be weighed down by the trials, be stressed out, overwhelmed and burdened.
John 10:10
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
The winds come, the trials come… that illness hits, your marriage hits a rough patch, you lose your job, a loved one dies, your ideal life timeline doesn't come to pass, you're betrayed by a friend.. you name it. When you aren’t GROUNDED in something much deeper than those difficult things, you lose heart, you lose faith, you succumb to the plans of the enemy.
So who is the woman who looks to God for her purpose and identity? Who stands firm when life throws a storm her way? Who's the girl who fights her fears and jumps into her best faith adventure? Who is she?
She is SEEN
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
God looks at you and Says: I SEE YOU! I HAVE A PLAN FOR YOU!
-You are SEEN! God knows you so intimately. Every hair on your head is counted. Every tear you’ve shed He's collected. Every hearts cry has been heard. He SEES you. When no-one else does. He does. When no-one else calls, he is there. When no one else understands, he does. When no one else can fill the void that your heart longs for, he does.
You are SEEN.
It is a game changer to know and understand your identity in Christ, that you have purpose and are LOVED.
She is ROOTED
After a storm one of the biggest safety issues are trees that have been uprooted. A tree falls cause the roots were not able to secure it during the harsh elements of a storm.
What happen's to your faith when a trial comes? Do you get quickly bitter or let anger take over? Do you lose faith all together or do you sink your roots even deeper into the goodness of God and you make that storm fortify your faith?
What grows our roots is the TRUTH of God. TIME With him, His word is our source, His presence is nurturing us, He is water to our thirsty souls. Not a work status, compliment, money, being a good mom, will grow our roots- if our roots are going down in those places, guess what? When the storm comes, we get uprooted.
We are not made to withstand storms without our roots being deep in the soil of Gods goodness.
As women of God we let our roots grow deep so that when the storms of life come, we will not be moved!
She is STRONG
I have at least two cups of tea a day. There's something about hearing that kettle whistle, waiting for the tea to steep and then enjoying a hot cup of tea (with a cookie of course) that just brings me comfort. The funny thing about tea is it is made for HOT WATER. If you put a tea bag in cold water, nothing will happen. Without the hot water you don’t have tea. The heat brings out the leaf and causes the change in the water. A tea bag was MADE to withstand the heat.
Just. Like. You.
Eleanor Roosevelt says, "A woman is like a tea bag - you can't tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water."
Many of us are in hot water. We're in trials that are pressing us, testing us, bringing out something in us. Can I tell you that maybe just maybe God is using that tough situation to bring out the PURPOSE in you! He see’s what you can withstand.
If you allow it, The heat of this season will MAKE you, not break you. Make you better, not bitter
When we say ‘She is Strong’
We know this isn’t a strength that is gained by our own effort. It’s a strength that is fortified in the fire. It’s a strength that comes from knowing we are SEEN by our God and being ROOTED in Him.
SO, WHO IS SHE?
She's Seen.
She's Rooted.
She's Strong.
