Summer is here! All summer long we will have "Summer Meet Ups" as a way for you to get connected and meet more people at VFF. We hope you join us! Also, be aware that kids who are moving up in grade will begin in their new classes the first Sunday of July.
Save the Date: Summer Picnic in the Park: Sunday, August 27th . After church service we will walk to the park for a family friendly picnic. Fun games for all, lunch, watermelon eating contest, pie bake off and more... PLUS our annual COLOR RUN! Lots of fun.
We want to take a moment to thank Gizelle Graves for her dedication to overseeing the nursery and caring for your children. She has handled the ministry with love like Jesus and motivation to make it the safest place for your children. She will be moving into a new season of life as she steps down from her role as nursery supervisor and steps into being more present at home with her family. Thank you Gizelle for all the years of dedication!
Christen Bernal and Marianne Justus have stepped up to take over the Nursery. They are so excited to love on the babies, create a safe space and cast even more vision for this ministry. If you see them, say thank you or bless them with a coffee!
Theme: God gave us the Bible so we can learn His truth: God made us to be His friends!
We want to continue to share with your kids the idea that the Bible is God’s true story. We will focus on teaching the PreK class how the Bible teaches us that God made them and us to be His friends! We want to feed the Bible’s truth to their heart so they can learn from it. They will walk away knowing who God is and what He’s done for them!
Bible Verse: 2 Timothy 3:16, "Scripture is useful for teaching us what is true" (NIRV)
K-5th Grade Kids:
This month the kids are graduating to new classes and color teams! All summer we kick off COLOR WARS! This helps them to build team spirit and work together as a group. Make sure your child knows their team color. Each week they will get points for wearing their team color, bringing a Bible, bringing a friend, remembering the Bible verse and bringing their offering.
July theme: Gadgets and Gizmos: Uniquely Weird>>Wonderfully Made
No one is like our God. And God created people in His image. Every single person on earth is unique. We have DNA, personalities, experiences, and relationships that make us different from each other. This makes us uniquely wired and wonderfully made.
Because we are uniquely made in God’s image, we think it’s important for us to help our kids discover more about what that means. This month, we take a closer look at the idea of uniqueness—discovering who God made you to be so you can make a difference.
Bible Verse: In Ephesians 2:10, we read, "We are God’s creation. He created us to belong to Christ Jesus. Now we can do good works. Long ago God prepared these works for us to do." (NIrV)
God has a plan for each of us. He invites us into the work He’s been doing in the world since the beginning of time to bring people to Him. God made us to be part of that!
As we help kids discover more about the way God uniquely created them, we’ll look at some people in the Bible and find out how God used their uniqueness to help Him change the world.
